Duration of Preparation: 30-35 Mins
INGREDIENTS:
1 ⅔ cups semolina
½ cup sugar
½ cup yogurt
½ cup melted ghee or butter
1 scant tbsp baking powder
1tbsp of honey
4tsp coconut
HOW TO PREPARE:
Mix all dry ingredient together
Mix the melted ghee or butter with the honey
Pour your ghee on the dry ingredients and mix all very well
Add the yogurt and mix
Put your basboosa mix in a deep big pan and put it in the oven with a tempreture of 180 for 20-25 mins
For the syrup:
1 ½ cups of sugar
1 ½ cups of water
A squeeze of a lemon
Scant tsp of vanilla powder.
1tbsp of butter or ghee
How to prepare :
In a deep pan put the sugar and water and stir till they boil
Add the lemon and vanilla and stir
Add the ghee or butter and leave it till it melts
This process shouldn't take more than 4 mins. Turn off your cook after 2 mins of boiling.
Once your basboosa is out of the oven, pour the hot syrup on top, and then leave it to chill for 15 mins.
